Femininus Wrasse - South Pacific, ranging from Australia to Eastern Island. Oceanic rocky reefs, usually in small aggregations at depths of about 20m or more. Juveniles more shallow and solitary when small , secretive in large weeds on rocks. Females retreat to kelp when threatened. Males solitary and territorial, patrolling large sections of reef to keep other males away. Length to 12cm.
